Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2026. Written in plain language for students in any country.

1. Who is responsible for your data

Adam Scotia, financial educator and author of Personal Finance Made Simple, runs this site as an independent educational project (no company registration number: there is no CNPJ or equivalent to display). Privacy contact: [email protected]. Based in Toronto, ON — Canada, with support in English by email.

2. Data we collect

3. How we use it and the legal basis

Legal basis is your consent: the checkbox never comes pre-ticked, and you can withdraw it at any time. Depending on where you live, your data is handled under the applicable law: the GDPR/UK GDPR in Europe and the UK, Brazil's LGPD, Canada's PIPEDA (including Quebec's Law 25), and US state privacy laws such as California's CCPA/CPRA.

4. Sharing

We don't sell your data. We may use email and hosting providers strictly to operate course delivery, under confidentiality agreements.

5. California: Do Not Sell or Share

We do not sell or share personal information as defined by the CCPA/CPRA. If you are in California and still wish to record a do-not-sell/share preference, write to [email protected] with the subject "Do Not Sell or Share".

6. Retention

We keep your name, email, and country while your enrollment is active or until you request deletion. Requests via the email above, answered within 15 days (without undue delay where the GDPR applies).

7. Your rights

Depending on your country, you have rights of confirmation, access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, objection, and withdrawal of consent. Just write to [email protected]. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

8. International transfers

Because students enroll from many countries, your data may be processed on servers outside your country (including Canada). Where the GDPR applies, transfers rely on your consent and on appropriate safeguards from our providers.

9. Cookies

Essential cookies (always on, to keep the site running) plus analytics and marketing cookies (only with your banner consent). Consent Mode signals stay denied until you choose otherwise. You can change your choice at any time via the Cookies link in the footer.

10. Children and teens

The course is aimed at ages 16+. Enrollments for minors must be made by a parent or guardian.
